Flag Day June 14th
Brainerd Elks Lodge #615 holds Flag Day Ceremonies every June 14th.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend and witness the history of the flag of the United States, through the presentation of the colors by the Brainerd Honor Guard and an explanation of the significance and tradition of our flags through the years. The event takes place at the All-Veterans Memorial on the east lawn of the Historic Crow Wing County Courthouse at 4th and Laurel Streets in Brainerd.
In 1949, President Harry Truman signed legislation designating June 14th of each year as national Flag Day. Though Flag Day is not a federal holiday, the U.S. Government encourages its citizens to display old glory outside of their homes and businesses.

There is no better symbol of our country’s values and traditions than the Flag of the United States of America. It continues to exemplify the profound commitment to freedom, equality, and opportunity made by our founders more than two centuries ago. Our flag’s proud stars and stripes have long inspired our people and its beautiful red, white, and blue design is known around the world as a beacon of liberty and justice.
Through our everlasting devotion and courage let us always keep it flying as the proud and beautiful symbol of freedom, dignity, and opportunity in a less than perfect world. United we stand, Steadfast and tall, Committed to peace, and freedom for all.
For times like these, that try all our souls, can renew our faith, in ourselves and our goals. Let's open our hearts, as our proud banners wave, O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave! Franklin Graham
